About Sharon

Healthier years, without losing the joy of living.

I’m Sharon Mercedes—a health and longevity coach, whole-food plant-based educator, author and founder of Back to BEING a Human BEING™.

I help individuals and organisations rethink what’s possible for their health and live the changes, not simply accumulate more advice.

Halfway there

50

is my halfway point.

Half a century lived. An exciting next 50+ years to build.

On 15 January 2027, I turn 50. I don’t see that birthday as a finish line. I see it as a pivotal point: a chance to honour the years I’ve lived and become more deliberate about the years I hope are still ahead.

That thought shapes my life and my work. It inspired Back to BEING a Human BEING™ as a book, a live app and a movement—and it keeps me asking what I can do today to make more of tomorrow possible.

For me, becoming a Centenarian in Training means living with that long view. One hundred is an aspiration, never a promised lifespan. The point is to believe that change remains possible at every age, and to begin.

The person behind the work

A full life, not a life of deprivation.

I’m a mother of two daughters, based in England in the UK, and I work with people and companies worldwide.

I’m also a big foodie. I love cooking, sharing food and finding pleasure in what’s on the table. I don’t believe health has to mean deprivation: treats and the occasional glass of wine have a place alongside a serious commitment to looking after ourselves.

That is why I live by an 80/20 approach. It is realistic, flexible and enjoyable enough to become a way of life—not another short-lived attempt at perfection.

Centenarian in Training

Learning from people already living the long view.

I’m inspired by people who are living into their 100s with vitality and independence. They are living examples and mentors: proof that there is more than one story about what later life can look like.

I want to build years with as little avoidable illness, pain and reliance on medication as my circumstances allow. That is an intention, not a claim that every centenarian is free from disease, pain or prescriptions—and never a reason to stop prescribed treatment without appropriate medical guidance.

The age is an aspiration. The training is what I choose today.

Why I created it

Back to BEING a Human BEING™

I created Back to BEING a Human BEING™ to help turn a different conversation about health and ageing into a different way of living.

The book opens up the conversation and invites an identity shift. The live app supports everyday action. My one-to-one work and workplace programmes help people and companies apply the philosophy in ways that make sense for their lives.

At its heart is a simple ambition: to thrive rather than simply survive, while remaining honest about real life, individual circumstances and the fact that no health outcome can be guaranteed.
