Long bio

Sharon Mercedes is a UK-based health and longevity coach, author and founder of Back to BEING a Human BEING. Through her forthcoming book, app, coaching and speaking, she asks a question that cuts through much of the usual wellness advice: Have we forgotten how to be human?

Sharon’s work explores the beliefs and daily habits that shape how we feel, live and age. She encourages people to look honestly at the lives they are building, without assuming that poor health or loss of vitality is simply an inevitable part of getting older. Her message is hopeful and practical: whatever your starting point, you can begin making choices that better support the years ahead.

In January 2027, Sharon turns 50. She sees the milestone as a halfway point—half a century lived, with the possibility of another 50 years to embrace. She calls herself a Centenarian in Training, a phrase that captures both her optimism and her belief that preparing for a healthier future should begin while we are busy living today. Her book, Back to BEING a Human BEING, is due for release in December 2026. Its accompanying app helps people turn reflection into everyday action.

Food matters in Sharon’s approach, but it is not the whole conversation. She has a background in whole-food plant-based education and believes most people would benefit from eating considerably more plants. She does not tell people they must be vegan or eat 100% plant-based. Her flexible 80/20 approach makes room for real life, personal choice, favourite foods, celebrations and the occasional glass of wine. For Sharon, health should add to the joy of living, not take it away.

A mother of two daughters and a self-described foodie, Sharon brings that same human perspective to her one-to-one coaching, workplace programmes, retreats and interviews. She speaks about longevity through a wider lens: how we nourish ourselves, move, rest, connect, think about ageing and make space for pleasure. Her aim is to help people pause, question what they have come to accept as normal, and feel ready to take a first step.

Sharon works with individuals and organisations in the UK and internationally. Whether she is speaking to an audience or supporting someone personally, her invitation is the same: take an active role in your health, stay curious about what is possible, and make the years ahead ones you look forward to living.
